Wedding arch or wedding canopy as symbolic furniture for a wedding ceremony

A decorative archway is quite a popular feature at outdoor weddings.  The couple getting married might stand underneath the archway for some part of the ceremony, symbolising the transition that they are making from their pre-married lives to the married life that awaits on the other side of the ceremony.

Another option, inspired by the Hebrew tradition, is to have a canopy made from fabric (possibly hand painted or with some special significance) supported by four poles which are held by supporting members of the bridal party.  This canopy represents the home that the couple are creating together, one into which their community of family and friends will always be welcomed.
